“I think your mother has died….”

Those were the words I heard my Dad say when I answered the telephone. Something no-one wants to hear, let alone at 3.00am in the morning when your mother is only 54. After instructing him to call an ambulance, I drove the mile to my parents’ house, so quickly, that my Dad was still on the phone to the emergency services when I got there. Without hesitation, I ran upstairs to find my mother lying in her bed as if she was asleep. I began futile CPR on her until the ambulance arrived. I didn’t know what else to do. Something no-one should have to do, not even a nurse. So,…I drew this!
